Bench crafted leather journals are handcrafted by Oberon Designs, in Santa Clara, California. Each refillable journal is constructed from custom tanned cowhide and paired with a decorative pewter button cast in their shop. Beautifully designed leather covers slide over a hard bound, blank book insert.

Journal measures 6" x 9" to hold a standard blank book insert.

Journal inserts measure 5.5" x 8.5" and have 208 pages of bright white recycled heavy bond paper. The inserts are smythe sewn and include a lined template sheet to facilitate writing. The journals are well suited to sketching and drawing, and they accept many pens and pencils well, including fountain pens. The inserts are made domestically in the United States.

We have found that the Oberon covers can often be used as book covers to protect your bible or current bestseller. The covers are available only as a 6x9, so this might not work for your book, but its a good idea!

Here's how to insert a new refill into your Oberon Leather Journal

Wedge book into left corner pocket of the journal

Wiggle top left corner of the book into the top left corner

Firmly wiggle front cover till it meets both corners of the journal pocket

Turn journal upside down and wiggle the other side, bottom corner first, into side pocket

Carefully but firmly wedge top corner of book under pocket

Taking your thumbs, position book insert toward pocket corners

Further wiggle insert cover toward pocket corners

Hold journal firmly against body and pull pocket toward yourself.

Close journal and gently tap top and bottom corners

Personalize your journal by adding an embossed name or phrase to the inside front flap for only $12.00 per line. You can personalize your book with SILVER embossing on one or two lines, up to 20 characters and spaces each. Because of the heavy texture of the journal's cover design it is impossible to do your embossing on the outside of this journal.
