It features durable heavy mat pages with gilded edges and slip-in openings to hold mats that protect and showcase your photographs. Smooth black bonded leather cover is available either with or without a cutout for a 4x4 photo. Black pages are edge-gilded in silver or black for an elegant finish that also protects pages from dirt and wear.

The pages of this album are made of thick mat board with a hidden opening at the top to slip in mats on both front and back.

Here's how to order an album to suit your individual needs:

1. Choose a cover design and gilding color.

2. Select the photos that you plan to showcase.

Plan out your pages specifically for these images. Each page of the album accepts one mat, and each mat can accommodate a range of photo sizes and quantities. Also, mats rotate, so you can turn them to suit your photo. Here's a quick view of all the available page configurations:

Your album can contain a different layout on each page or they can all be the same--the choice is yours!

3. Choose page count

Once you have decided which mats you need, and how many of them your album will require, select an album that has the correct number of pages. For example, if your book layout will use 24 assorted mats, you will want an album to hold 24 mats.

The albums are available to hold the following quantities: 24 mats, 30 mats, 36 mats, 42 mats, 48 mats, or 54 mats. You will want to keep these page counts in mind as you plan your album layout. (Albums with other page counts are available, but they are only made as special orders, which means much higher costs and much longer turnaround time.)

4. Select personalization

To further customize the album, consider adding names, dates, or titles. Embossing color will be done in silver in the lower-right corner or centered beneath the widow.

5. Complete your order

Once your order has been placed, we will review all of the order details to make sure you have everything you need. Please check all of your details carefully before submitting your order.

6. Assemble the album once it arrives.

Assembly is a simple matter of affixing your photos to the mats and sliding the mats into the hidden slot on front and back of each album page.

How hard is this, really? Assembling a matted album is really very easy. The most difficult part is organizing and arranging your photos in a book layout that tells your story the way YOU want it told.

Once you have decided on a layout (honestly, this is the only hard part), each page should take you 5-10 minutes to assemble.

Don't forget to order mats for your album!

Click accessories to choose your mats, and be sure the total number of mats equals the total number of pages you have selected for your album. For example, If you chose the 24 mats album, you'll need a total of 24 mats to complete the album. The album without mats will not hold photos.

Each page in the library bound mat album has two components: rigid bound-in pages, which look like frames and flexible cardstock mats, with die-cut openings for your photos. You need both in order to complete the album.

The rigid bound-in page is sort of a frame to hold the mat. You can choose an album to hold 24, 30, or 36 mats.

The flexible mat, which holds your photos, slips into the rigid page. You'll want to make sure you order the correct number of mats for the album you have chosen. You can select mats to hold a variety of print sizes from 2" x 3" up to 10" x 10"

The flexible mat is a sheet of cardstock with die-cut window openings to frame your photographs. The front is the only part you see once the album is assembled. The back of the mat has a protective sheet of white paper which you flip back to mount photographs.

Place your photo face down, so the part you want to show is centered over the die cut window opening, and then using photo safe tape, tape it down so it is fixed in position. Once you have all the photos for the mat affixed, you can flip the paper backing sheet down. If you like, you can secure the backing sheet with a small piece of tape.

The rigid page is two-sided, so you will slide two mats in--facing back to back.

At the top of each page is a slit. Gently pull the slit open and slide your mats in.

Repeat the same steps until every page has been filled.

The album is designed so there is no bulge when all of the mats are in place. Every page lies nice and flat when the album is open, and the album closes perfectly flat when it is closed.

Personalize your album by adding an embossed name or phrase for only $12.00 per line. You can personalize your book with GOLD or SILVER embossing on one or two lines, up to 20 characters and spaces each. The color we choose will be determined by the page edge color you select.

To choose this option, fill in your personalization information above. Your embossing will be centered beneath the cutout window in our standard Garamond font. The size of the letters will vary with the number of characters requested.
