Austin Kleon & the Palomino Blackwing Pencil
If you're not familiar with writer and artist, Austin Kleon, now's your chance. He is a New York Times bestselling author of three illustrated books: Steal Like An Artist, Newspaper Blackout, and Show Your Work! He speaks about creativity in the digital age for organizations such as Pixar, Google, SXSW, TEDx, and The Economist. He's got a fantastic outlook about creativity, being an artist and being yourself. If you can't tell, we think he's pretty awesome.
So it's very cool to see someone who we totally admire using something we carry here at Jenni Bick. Plus the fact that Clive Thompson, a long time contributing writer for Wired and The New York Times Magazine, turned him on to these writing utensils is also pretty darn cool.
Austin had this to say about the Palomino Blackwing pencils.
"Clive Thompson got me totally hooked on these: they’re super soft and dark, which makes them awesome for marginalia and writing longhand. You can also buy a badass longpoint sharpener for them."
